Emergencies

If you have an emergency, please phone us immediately on 524 6415.

We will advise you what to do. It also allows us to prepare for your arrival, so that your pet can be promptly attended to.

When speaking to us, please state the type of emergency, for example :

  • Breathing difficulties
  • Bleeding
  • Poisonings – rat bait, ant bait, human medicines (please bring the packet with you).
  • Seizuring
  • Road traffic accident
  • Signs of discomfort – such as toiletting, abdominal bloating, painful walking etc.

If it is outside our normal clinic hours, we reccomend contacting the Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) on 849 2121 at 97 Carrington Road, Mt Albert.

Remember when dealing with an emergency to always STOP and THINK about the danger to yourself, to those around you and to the animal. Take a few moments to assess the situation before acting.
