Welcome to Greenlane Veterinary Centre and Cattery
To all our valued clients,
Following the announcement from the Prime Minister about COVID-19, we are introducing some new protocols effective immediately. We just want to take this opportunity to assure you all that you will still be able to contact us in the case of an emergency, for advice and to get supplies, as we are an essential sector and will continue to provide care to your patients as we can in this difficult time.
Effective immediately, we will sadly not be allowing anyone other than staff into the clinic unless it’s for euthanasia appointment, and in these situations we ask for as few family members as possible and will need you to wear protective clothing (which we can provide). We ask that in all scenarios, you wait outside in the car park, call us on 09 524 6415 to let us know your arrival, keeping a safe 2m distance from others, so we can take history over the phone. We will then come to meet you outside to collect your animal, assess them inside and call you to discuss a plan, provide treatment as needed and then call you to take payment over the phone and will then bring your loved one back out to you. We will be operating reduced opening hours of 8-4pm during the week, 8.30-12pm on Saturday and will be closed on Sundays during the lockdown period.
There will no longer be any bookings for routine consultations or procedures (vaccinations, flea and worming, claw clips, neutering or elective dentals) and we will be contacting you to rearrange any you may have booked for the next 4 weeks. We will be providing telephone consultations if you are concerned about your pet’s wellbeing, and will strive to see your animal as we can in the case of an emergency or illness. We will be operating an on call type system, so your phone calls will be taken and a vet and nurse will be on the premises to see your pets if needed but please be understanding that we will be limiting contact wherever possible.
We will still be able to sell food and dispense repeat medications currently, so please don’t worry or feel you need to stock up in advance of these things. We are dispensing a maximum of 2 bags of food per patient, and up to 1 months of medication at a time. Again, we ask for your understanding and request that you let us know at least 7 days in advance of when you need the medication, due to us having fewer deliveries than normal during this period, so we can try to get the medication for you as soon as possible.
We will also no longer be taking any new cattery bookings and kindly ask that if you are able to, that you collect your animal from cattery as soon as is feasible (ideally by the end of tomorrow) due to staffing shortages and wanting to limit contact as much as possible.
We strongly ask for your patience during this time and please understand that caring for you and your pets is still our top priority, and we will do everything we can to achieve that. We know this is a turbulent time for everybody, and that the situation is changing by the day, so we will endeavour to keep you updated with changes as and when they occur.
All the best and stay safe,
The Team at Greenlane Vets
